Did I do good?
I think Blinky™ pretty much speaks for himself.
(The 1080p HD version is 435Mb, but worth downloading.)

Ok, now I don't want a domestic robot any more...
Classic lines, though! (don't worry, no spoilers)

Good to see you posting more frequently again, Dan.
Such a well-executed short, though a bit predictable. I guess this is what happens when the Three Laws aren't correctly implemented and/or omitted...

Hmm, creepy stuff. What's impressive is how quickly we empathise with Blinky when faced with the nastiness of the kid's character. Not even for one second do we consider that we are rooting for a machine against a human.
I think a lot of this is due to robots being part of pop culture for a long time, at least since 2001 - A Space Odyssey was filmed back in the 60s. We are so used to seeing believable human characteristics from robots or computers that we don't even give it a second thought when considering who to support in a conflict scenario in a film.
What I wonder is whether this would be mirrored in reality. If we ever develop truly human AI, would we be happy to give these machines all sympathy we would give a human if they were being mistreated? Or, would we easily come to hate machines if they behaved like a detestable human?
I think we will be considering this for real before I'm dead. Long before I'm dead.

I realize I'm behind the times, here, in just seeing this. And now it seems I've missed out on the let's-say-fun!
Computer says:
(Same problem if I follow the vimeo link below the video.)
