You might want to drop me a line. I've produced small kitsets and plans sets in the past and I can probably get you what you need wihtout the expense since I'm on the other side of the ditch.

I'll be in the workshop this weekend putting together a machine for the local high school so an extra one is no great drama.

As a cub scout leader, I helped the boys build a trebuchet a couple years ago. I used a trebuchet simulator to do my design, and then built it out of 1x2's and a few other bits. Total cost was under $15USD. Instead of using a counterweight (like all real trebuchets do), it uses a pair of bungee cords. It can fling a 4oz ball a couple hundred feet easily. If you'd like, I can post dimensions--it's about 32" high at the axle. We built it in under an hour. (and I apologize about the imperial units--I'm a bit sleep-deprived and too lazy to do the conversion)

A few months back, we pulled it out and put *5* bungee cords on it. With that much tension, it flung its payload a ridiculous distance--probably close to 500 feet.

My only problem is that it takes up valuable garage space.

Years ago, I built my first trebuchet out of Lego Technics. It could hurl a golf ball 10 metres, and looked a lot like the one on EMS.
