I work for the company that produced the program. You can imagine how long it would take to restore the vehicles, so that's why they aren't complete. You can see it in the UK on UKTV History. It also airing on History and Historia in Canada, Military and HD Theatre in the US, Discovery Germany and across Eastern Europe and Scandinavia on the Viasat channels. Plans are underway to produce 4 more episodes in 2008. We are also planning to release season one on dvd. Glad you liked the show.

Just watching episode 1. So good. I've never seen a tank's suspension before. It was also funny to hear the British guys refer to the 'mountlet' and the narrator refer to a 'mantlet'.

A little too heavy on the historics for my tastes - I've always preferred things where you see what they're actually doing, rather than the full history of the beastie.
I recall rather liking the Salvage Squad version of this kind of challenge: http://www.channel4.com/science/microsites/S/salvage_squad_2002/vehicles/tank/index.html

Looks like a good watch. I however HATE shows that do not ever finish the project.

Most recently The video of the North American Eagle Project http://www.landspeed.com/ They had a 1 hour show on it. It was actually quite good to see them with a jet motor on a test stand trying to get the after burner to kick in, and when it finally does to see the actual thrust out the back. (Basically pointed out in a field) It was DAM impressive!!! But as I see the hour mark roll around I find that the story is going to fall short of an attempt at the record... Why? Because they haven’t tried yet. What a pisser!

This also reminds me of an old documentary I watched where these guys found an old WWII bomber somewhere in an artic area and tried to fix it up to be able to fly it back. After investors dumped tons of money into the project, they were taxying (sp?) it for take off, it caught fire and was a total loss. While this certainly is not quite the same you still have that feeling of being ripped off, just in this case, there was total sadness at the end. (You actually feel for the people who dumped their heart into the project.)

Maybe we can get Xzibit to do a Pimp My Tank show. At least they finish their projects. On second thought maybe NOT! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AI7rQAQh5lw

Of course, one of the best bits of video tamkery has to be Top Gear's Range Rover vs Tank:
