Their outside-the-USA shipping prices aren't outrageous, either; the cheapest total price for delivery to me here in Australia, for instance, is $US106.10. I bought my Wimshurst machine from eBay seller "<a href="http://myworld.ebay.com/readingnature/">readingnature</a>", who currently have an allegedly-slightly-improved version for $US77 plus $US55-to-60 for delivery outside the USA. (Sci-Supply <a href="http://stores.ebay.com/Sci-Supply">sell stuff on eBay</a> too, though they don't have any Wimshurst machines listed at the moment.) He was probably the biggest influence on the whole Mentos and Coke fad when his video of the experiment from our local news was meme'd. In fact, I support him just because he's a science guy on local news, you don't see that anymore. His site is a lot like the "Science is fun" section of EI. Lots of sodium polyacrylate, the best stuff in existence. Another good site for fun science-y stuff is Steve Spangler's site.
